This article will help guide you when setting up your Sniffie account

Welcome to Sniffie

Sniffie is a price monitoring, optimization and automation service. Sniffie helps you collect, analyze, report and react to pricing trends and changes within your e-commerce market. With Sniffie it is easy to optimize your pricing strategy and price your products based on real time market fluctuations as they occur.

Our tools allow you to easily view and export pricing analytics. Sniffie's easy to use, targeted analytics will help you define and implement pricing strategies according to your needs and desired outcomes. Our philosophy focuses on easy price data extraction, data segmentation and intuitive user experience with drill down analytics.

Step 1: Reference website

We recommend that you start by defining your reference website in the profile settings.

Please note that without having defined your reference website you will not be able to view data in the Price Matrix.

Your Reference website settings can be modified from your Personal Settings, located in your account menu at the bottom left corner of the Sniffie app (account & user name). Click on the account menu selector and select Personal settings.

There are two tabs at the top of your Personal settings menu: App preferences and User details. Expand your Reference website settings, located on the App preferences tab. Click on the drop down selector to set your desired reference website and then click on the save changes button.

Step 2: Set your language preference

You can also set your preferred language from your Personal Settings. Expand your Locale settings, located on the App preferences tab. Click on the drop down selector to change your local language, and then click on the save changes button. Currently we support English, Finnish and Swedish. More languages will be coming to Sniffie in the future!

Step 3: Match your products

There are three distinct ways of matching products with Sniffie:

  1. Match products using Sniffie’s intelligent tools

  2. Match products with Sniffie's automatic matcher

  3. Match products manually (recommended)

Step 4: Organize your data

When your Sniffie account was created, your pricing data was likely extracted and organized into categories. This provides you with a good starting point. However, to get the most out of Sniffie you’ll most likely want to divide your products into smaller segments and groups. You can do this easily with product tags. Learn more about product tags and how they can be used to easily organize your data in just a few simple clicks with this helpful article.

Step 5: Analyze your data

Now that you have imported and organized your pricing data, it is ready to be analyzed whenever and however you need. Use the Sniffie filters for quick data access and segmentation. Filters can be opened by clicking the filter icon located at the top left of the screen, in the Sniffie app.

Filters help narrow down your data set, making it easy to understand and analyze your data on your terms. When you apply filters to your data, your data charts will show updated values based on the filtered results. With filters everything is calculated on demand, based on your specific needs. More optional features

Subscribe to email reports

Sniffie can be set to monitor and report changes on your behalf. Creating email reports and stay up to date with the latest market information. With Sniffie you can create as many email reports as you wish.

Export data to external systems

Most likely you will need processed eCommerce data in your system. Before you rush into gathering data, let us show you how to easily extract data in order to make analyses simple in other applications such as Excel. You can refer to our product feed documentation to get started. It’s really simple!

We also offer raw extraction data API for all data that is not related to products. You could also use this as your integration layer, although we don’t really recommend it for eCommerce data.

Using Sniffie Support

Finally, remember that we are available to help you. Our support section includes an easy to use Help Center, and a customer support chat function. Access the Help Center or contact Customer Support by clicking on the chat icon located at the bottom left of the screen in the Sniffie app (bottom right of this page).
