2. Upload reference products

3. Upload new prices or campaigns for your products

Upload data

Upload data option can be found in the top right of product catalog.

upload data modal

Upload data modal has three options to choose from.

Update existing product data (will not update prices)

First of the possible upload options is to update existing product data. This is useful when you want to enrich already existing information with new data e.g. color, category info, size, etc.

To get started with enriching the products that you want, make sure to filter down the product catalog so that only the products that you want to update are filtered. This ensures that the file you work with does not become too big. After filtering down successfully, you can download the data by clicking the cloud with an downwards arrow (see picture below). You can choose between .csv and Excel file types.

download data

How to update existing product data in Sniffie:

  1. Open up the file, in Excel for example

  2. Find the column you want to add data to

  3. Add data to as many columns you want (Not price)

  4. Delete any unnecessary columns that you did not alter, but be sure to leave in the first column (ID). This is how we know what product to update.

  5. Download / Export the file as .csv

  6. Upload the file to Sniffie through the "Upload data" -modal.

  7. Our system will check the file validity. If it’s valid, the upload will start. Depending on the amount of products updated, this may take a while. Millions of products may take a few minutes.

  8. You will get a success message when the upload is finished. It’s okay to navigate away, since the import will be going on in the background.

pricing file

Example of a file that is used to upload prices to Sniffie.

A few key points to keep in mind when pricing / setting campaigns using spreadsheets:

  1. "New price" column is the price that will take place in the set "Start date"

  2. If "Start date" is left empty, price change will take effect immediately

  3. If "End date" is left empty, price change will stay as long as the price is changed again

  4. If "Start date" and "End date" are set, the New price will stay on your web store for the set period of time.

  5. If special price is set as "1", a strike through price is applied for that product in your web store

In some cases you may encounter an error when you try to upload new prices for your products.

Some events that may trigger an error:

1. End date is set before Start date

2. New price field contains something else, not numeric, information

3. Product ID:s are incorrect
