What is the dashboard?

The dashboard is a customizable view that serves as a personalized reporting display. Dashboards are created from and found on Sniffie's Home page. Navigate to your dashboards by clicking Home on the left navigation bar. When creating a dashboard, you will give it a name to describe its content and purpose.

The dashboard consists of analytic widgets, which are installed on the dashboard. Install widgets by clicking on the + Add widget button. Choose the widgets which best suit the purpose of the dashboard. After installing a widget, it can be customized to show the desired data by clicking on the Edit widget. According to the criterion you have chosen for the widget, it will provide you with the insight and depth you want to see in that particular dashboard.

Creating a dashboard

When you begin using Sniffie for the first time and enter the Home page, you will start by creating your first dashboard. You will see a button in the middle of the screen, Create / Add a dashboard. When you click the button, a pop-up appears where you can give a name to that dashboard. For example, you can name the dashboard by a certain category, product segment, brand, etc. Once created, you will then form the dashboard by adding widgets.

You are able to add widgets to your dashboard by pressing the + Add widget button at the top right corner of the dashboard view

Clicking the + Add widget button opens a module at the top of the screen to find all the widgets you can install on your dashboard. Select a suitable widget and click Install widget, which will be added to your dashboard.

Edit the widget to select the data you wish to have displayed. After you have defined the widget data, click Apply to save the widget settings. The data you have defined with the widget is now displayed in the dashboard. To adjust a widget´s size, click and drag it from the bottom-left corner. Once you have added multiple widgets to a dashboard, you can easily move them by dragging them to a preferred position. The Dashboard makes it easy for you to locate and read your analytical widgets when needed.

After creating a dashboard and installing your customized widgets, toggle off dashboard editing mode from the top right of the dashboard. Toggling off dashboard editing mode locks your widgets' location and size, so that you can easily find and view your data next time you navigate to your dashboard.

Who can see the dashboard?

The dashboards which you create are your personal dashboards. Other users in your account are not able to see them. You can share a dashboard by clicking on the share this dashboard with your organization icon in the top right corner. This allows you to copy a link to that dashboard, which you can share with anyone need access to it.

For other people to be able to see the shared dashboard, they need to have their own active account in the Sniffie service. When people access a shared dashboard, they will see the dashboard shared by User X at the top of the dashboard. Shared dashboards are viewed in read-only format. A shared dashboard cannot be edited by anyone other than its creator. If someone would like to utilize a shared dashboard in their own account, they can make a copy of it, which they can then edit.

It is possible to set user permissions when creating a dashboard. User permissions define who can view and edit a given dashboard. This makes it possible to create specific dashboards and reports for other users, such as Executive level, Category management, and Pricing management personnel. An account's Local Admin users are able to set these user permission settings for their organization's Sniffie personnel.
