Logging in for the first time

You should have received a registration email after creating your Sniffie account. In order to login to Sniffie you will need to have opened this email and clicked the registration link to activate your account.

In the registration email, you are provided a one-time use password for your first login. Please update your password after your first login to Sniffie. If you already have your credentials, you can always always login here.

If your user is created with single sign on login only, you cannot login with a password and don't need the one-time password, but need to login with the single sign on provider.

If you have not received your registration email, kindly check your spam folder, as some emails may end there.

What to do after you receive your first login link from Sniffie?

After you receive your login credentials from Sniffie, the service prompts you to change your password. Please follow the steps in the prompt to change your password. After changing your password, you should be able to log in successfully.

Sniffie login page

If your login is unsuccessful, the login page will give you a reason for that.

Only one active session (one for the Sniffie extension and one for the Sniffie web service) can be enabled at a time. Thus, when you login to the Sniffie service from another browser, your previous session will expire.

Logging out

Your Sniffie account includes valuable data, so do not leave it open on any shared or public computers you use. Logging out from Sniffie can be done from the navigation menu in the bottom left corner by clicking on your account options and then clicking the logout button.

If you have used a public computer, it may also be a good idea to reset your browser history.

Logging in with single sign on (Google or Microsoft)

You need to have an existing account in Sniffie to login with a single sign on (SSO) provider. The current providers we support are Google and Microsoft.

If you don't have an account with Sniffie, you cannot login with an SSO provider. We will not automatically create an account for you via the login button.

You login with the single sign on provider using the login buttons on the login screen. You can login only with the one single sign on provider at the same time. Your email in Sniffie needs to match the primary email in your SSO provider.

Once you click the button, you will be redirected to your single sign on provider login page, where you will be asked to login to that provider. You will also be prompted with the consent screen on what data we read.

Once you approve the consent and login successfully on the SSO provider, we do verification on our end that you actually have the necessary permissions to login to our system. If you do, and you have not yet enforced SSO login as the only method to login, you will be asked if you would like to do so. If you enforce SSO, you can only login with the selected SSO provider in the future, and not via other methods (e.g. email + password). You will still use your password to authorize certain actions in our app, and you can still reset your password normally.
