Google SSO is one of the ways to login to Sniffie if your organization uses Google services and cloud in the daily usage.
Prerequisites
You have been created an account to Sniffie service with the exact email you use in logging in to the organization.
Your organization uses Google as the SSO provider.
How to login with Google SSO
Go to Sniffie front page. If you are logged in, log out of the service first.
Click Login with Google at the bottom of the login screen (below email + password fields)
You will be directed to the Google login screen. Login with your Google credentials if you are not already logged in. If you have not done so, we encourage you to enable two-factor authentication (2FA) to your Google account to make it more secure.
β
You will be redirected back to our service. We will verify with Google that the request came from your side and that you are an authorized user. If it succeeds, you will be logged in.
If you organization has not enforced SSO usage, you will now be asked if you would like to enforce SSO login only. This means that you account cannot be logged in without SSO login (i.e. logins won't work with your Sniffie password anymore).
If you enforce SSO login, you will still use your password to authorize certain actions. You should still keep it a secret. Your password is now your personal PIN and you can change it at any time with normal password changing procedures.
If you try to login to Sniffie without having account in the service with valid SSO callback you will be notified that you don't seem to have an account.
If you successfully login with SSO in organization that uses SSO but your email has been previously used in Sniffie by another person with the same name, you will not be logged in successfully. You should contact your account admin for the to create a fresh account to the service.
If you have enforced SSO logins and try to login with password, you will see an error.
Organizations can request that only SSO logins are possible by contacting their CS persons.
